Our Huddersfield headquarters as our home for more than half a century and its Victorian architecture reflects the rich textile heritage of Huddersfield, a town renowned for its clothmaking industry.

HISTORY OF OUR huddersfield hq

  • 1874-1875: The building was constructed to serve as Huddersfield’s General Post Office. Designed by architect William Crossland, it opened on December 23, 1875.

  • 1914: The Post Office relocated to a new building across the road, leaving the original premises at 5 Northumberland Street.

  • Post-1914: The building has been repurposed over the years and currently houses Dugdale Bros & Co Ltd., a renowned cloth merchant established in 1896. Dugdale Bros & Co Ltd. has been operating from this location since its inception.
